Mark Dunst (1969– ) is an emerging abstract artist living in Portland, OR. He and his older brother were born and raised in Colorado Springs, CO by their mother, a school teacher.
Mark earned his BFA in Painting from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 1993 and immediately started a career in graphic design. He has held positions as Illustrator, Graphic Designer, Interactive Designer, Art Director, Creative Director, Partner and Owner in advertising, marketing, graphic design, and user experience design firms. Mark, his wife, and two kids have called Denver, Minneapolis and Los Angeles home, finally settling in Portland, OR in 2006. After a 25-year hiatus, Mark reinstated his art practice and opened a small studio-gallery in NW Portland. His latest work has been featured on SFMOMA social media, Open: Journal of Arts and Letters, and the Member’s Library Group Show. In early 2019 his work will appear in the Claiming Voice Group Show at PNCA. |
